BOB EVONIUK

Bob E B&W.jpeg

Bob grew up around Washington DC, a hotbed for great music although no one thinks it as such. Being the southern extent of the North and the northern reaches of the South, the DC area created a nexus for bands up and down the East Coast as well as those travelling from the West Coast. His first interests – piano and Hammond organ – gave way to guitar during his early high school years and quickly jumped to a parallel track upon hearing the searing slide guitar work of artists such as Duane Allman, Lowell George, David Lindley and the Dobro work of bluegrass greats Mike Auldridge and Jerry Douglas. In addition to releasing numerous CD’s with his own bands, he has produced many for other artists and has toured and performed as an instrumentalist and vocalist with Foxfire, Siskiyou Summit, Borderline, One Horse Shy and LEFT. His favorite place on stage is that spot slightly off to one side where, if he isn’t the musical icing on the collaborative cake, he can at least be tossing on a few sprinkles now and then.

Guitarist, singer songwriter Gene Black joined Joe Cocker's band in 1997, and stayed with Joe through 2014. The band toured extensively throughout Europe, South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, as well as Canada and  the US. Gene appears on several of Joe's live recordings as well as the 2005 studio release “Heart and Soul”. The live DVD from Joe Cocker's “2013 Fire it Up” tour was recently certified platinum in Germany and is now available in the US.

Living in L.A during the late ’80’s Black co-wrote several top ten hits including Hearts "Never" and Rod Stewarts "Love Touch". While doing primarily studio work, Gene appeared on records by Rod
Stewart, Eddie Money, Tori Amos, Terri Nunn and Berlin, and also recorded extensively with
Tina Turner, and was later introduced to Joe Cocker by Tina's manager, Roger Davies.

GREG FREDERICK

For 50+ years Greg Frederick has been a working musician. Greg grew up in northeast Ohio, a robust musical community, that proved to be the perfect environment for a young musician. Greg’s teen years included college tours and nightclubs. A fortunate move to Carmel landed Greg in a sideman position to perform with Blues, Rock and Jazz greats at Monterey and Santa Cruz Jazz and Blues Festivals. Greg found himself called upon by touring musicians up and down the coast, including: Lavelle White, Coco Taylor, Johnny Hartsman and The Blues Persuaders. Forming the band “The Usual Suspects,” with Grammy and Hall of Famer Bud Cockrell, the band became a sought-after opening act for major bands as well as a back-up band for recording artists in the studio. Moving to Southern Oregon The “Usual Suspects” evolved into “The Rogue Suspects/LEFT,” which for the past 25 years has repeatedly been named the area’s favorite band.

MATT TERRERI

Matt CONTRAST.jpg

Matt picked up his first drumsticks at the age of 5. He began to formally study music through school and private lessons which helped him develop a broad foundation in drumset and percussion. At the same time he began to jam to as many rock, metal and funk records he could. This eventually led to playing in garage bands in his hometown in NJ. By the time he was 23 he had moved to Los Angeles and was signed to a major label. He found his way to Southern Oregon 17 years ago, and has played in the valley with bands such as Funkamumgus, Rogue Suspects and LEFT. Matt is also comfortable as a studio musician but definitely prefers playing in live bands so people can get their groove on!
